WHAT WE DO?

Offering Supplementary Educational Support For Children In Our Community

We follow the national curriculum and tailor learning to each child’s individual needs.

Enrichment Activities

Music, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Gardening, and Games.

Life Skills

Weekly debate topics that enhance students’ learning and help them develop essential life skills.

ASPIRE’S UNIQUE APPROACH

The Centre provides individualised programmes of activity that will help build confidence, self-esteem and enable young people to become independent learners who feel valued and empowered to engage in learning to progress to further education.

ASPIRE’S MOTTO IS – PRAISING TO SUCCESS

To Aspire means ‘directing hopes and ambitions towards achieving a goal’. We want to encourage every child attending Aspire Preparatory Centre to do the very best they can by praising them to success. This action will nurture the child’s confidence and sense of self. By using praise, we will be showing them how to think and talk positively about themselves and to recognise when they do well and to feel proud of themselves. Our reward system will include an End of Term Award Event where children will receive certificates for attributes such as: good behaviour, improved attainment, being kind, helping the teacher, being a keen learner etc.

WHO WE ARE?

We are dedicated to offering supplementary educational support to children in Lewisham

The Centre is managed by volunteers and teachers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience helping children strengthen their understanding of core subjects like English and Maths. They also support with enrichment activities where children participate in practical activities which help to build confidence, self-esteem and social skills.

It fills me with joy to see the children so engage and excited to learn. This is especially evident while learning about the periodic table in their science lesson

Volunteer

My daughter looks forward to attending each week.

Parent

It is a pleasure to give my time to this meaningful and worthy cause

Volunteer

She always tells me what she’s learnt, and we’re amazed by the science—especially the Periodic Table

Parent

My son now enjoys cooking and even recreates the dishes he’s learnt for the family!

Parent

Aspire is a rare opportunity for young people to experience the benefit of 'one to one' teaching and to be inspired by new learning. There is also exposure to the development of different life skills and creativity. Why not take advantage of this for your children. Not to be missed.
